Sierra Leone is now President Koroma successful re-election

Sierra Leone Electoral Commission announced on the evening of 23 July, incumbent President Ernest Bai Koroma re-election success, to hold office until 2017.
The Electoral Commission also announced that any objection on the election results, and can appeal to the High Court within 7 days after the results were announced.
The election results show that Koroma won a total of 58.7% of the vote, its main rival, the Sierra Leone People's Party presidential candidate Julius horse Biau 37.4%. The general election was 87.3%, invalid votes was 4.7%. The same time members of Congress and members of the local council election results are yet to be announced.
If a presidential candidate to get more than 55% support votes in accordance with the Constitution of Sierra Leone, the elections do not need to enter the second round.
Sierra Leone held 17 national elections, the election of a new president, 112 members of Congress and 456 members of the local council. Sierra Leone Election Commission statistics show a total of about 2.5 million voters were registered to vote. Eight political parties to participate in the presidential elections, 10 political parties participated in the parliamentary elections.
Sierra Leone was a British colony, declared its independence in 1961, plunged into civil war in 1991-2002.
